SSU journal "Marketing and Management of Innovations" took the 12 position in "Top-100" scientific periodicals of Ukraine as of June 2015. The data was published by Google Scholar, the freely accessible search engine for full texts of scientific literature of all formats and disciplines.

Alina Fadieieva, the SSU student of specialty "Sports" is recognized as the best goalkeeper at the Field Hockey European Championship in Division II. The championship was held in Mori (northern Italy) on 5-11 July.

The tournament involved eight teams, including representatives of Austria, Italy, Poland and Wales.

Informative educational resource "Osvita.ua" released the consolidated ranking of Ukrainian HEIs – 2015, which is drawn up on the basis of "Webometrics", the authoritative international ranking, "Scopus" database and "Top-200 Ukraine" HEIs national ranking. According to Osvita.ua, SSU is an "educational leader in the northern region" and takes the 8th position among all national universities and the 5th position among Ukrainian classical universities.

In 2015 SSU Faculty of Economics and Management starts training in the specialty "International Economics".

Students will be taught in English by teachers from Ukraine, Canada and Europe (with the obligatory submission of all educational materials in Ukrainian).
