Gender Resource Center

The purpose of the Center is to provide scientific and practical assistance to lecturers and students of higher education institutions in implementing the ideas of gender equality in the educational process through:

- strengthening the gender component in the content of social and humanitarian disciplines

- delivery of educational activities

- organization of research work to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women and men

- elimination of all forms of discrimination

- prevention of violence in all spheres of society

Areas of activity:

• uniting the efforts of educators, scientists, civil society organizations, public authorities in order to achieve gender equality;
• study of the situation with the implementation of gender equality in the Sumy region;
• dissemination of evidence-based information about the situation of men and women in the region;
• study of public opinion, design, and delivery of sociological research on gender equality, as well as monitoring of regional media;
• establishment of an expert environment in the field of gender issues;
• compilation of information base, organization of book exhibitions, providing content for gender thematic events;
• development of methodical and educational materials for secondary and higher educational institutions;
• holding scientific and practical conferences, seminars, round tables, student debates on gender equality and overcoming gender stereotypes.
