Representatives of Sumy State University were trained by the top managers of leading organizations

During October 2015 - April 2016 SSU staff took part in ‘New University’ strategic sessions held by the top managers of leading organizations. The training topics included innovation management, strategic management, leadership, reputation management, marketing, branding, personnel management, and change management.

Sumy State University was represented by Vice-rector for scientific work Anatoliy Chornous, Dean for the Faculty of Teachers Training Nadiia Kostyuchenko and Head of the Center for Benchmarking and Web Marketing Dmytro Filchenko.

Among the speakers of ‘New University’ programme were Aaron Porter, Director of External Affairs for the National Centre for Universities and Business (Great Britain); Oleksandr Savruk, Dean of Kyiv Mohyla business school; Volodymyr Popereshniuk, co-founder of ‘Nova Poshta’ company; Dina Nemyrovych, Chief Strategic Officer of ‘Farmak’ company; Nadiia Vasylieva, CEO of ‘Microsoft Ukraine’; Andriy Fedoriv, Founder and CEO of Ukrainian branding agency ‘Fedoriv.com’; Andriy Pyshnyy, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC ‘Oschadbank’ and other top managers of leading organizations.

The participation in the programme allowed SSU to establish new useful contacts with business representatives and start introducing new knowledge and skills acquired during strategic sessions in the University’s activities.

‘New University’ strategic sessions have been organized by the Centre for CSR Development – an expert organization, which also deals with issues of creating a platform for interaction between business and universities in order to improve the quality of higher education in Ukraine.

The competitive applications for participation in the programme were submitted by 24 higher education institutions. The expert board of ‘New University’ programme, which included the representatives of the organizers, the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, the British Council in Ukraine and the speakers of the programme, chose educational institutions for participation in the programme on the basis of information about the innovation introduction, goals and tasks of the development strategy.
