Within three days of the workshop the young scientists have been learning the ways of efficient and effective interaction in the international academic environment. The British Council’s Researcher Connect project was held at Poltava National Technical Yuri Kondratyuk University.

Daniela Bultoc, Organisational Development Consultant (University College London, London, United Kingdom) and Viktor Kyrylenko, Contracts and Projects Manager (British Council Ukraine) shared their experience with the participants of the workshop.

The young scientists from Poltava, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Sumy were chosen to take part in the event. Sumy State University was represented by three members ofSSU Scientific Society of students, post-graduate students, doctoral students and young scientists, including Artem Artyukhov, Associate Professor of Processes and Equipment of Chemical and Petroleum-Refineries Department, Olena Yevtushenko, lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Philology, and Denys Smolennikov, professor assistant of the Department of Management.

During those three days of intensive workshop the participants had the opportunity to learn the rules of working with the audience, secrets of writing successful abstracts for scientific papers and grant applications. Also, the young scientists were able to improve the skills of international academic cooperation. Theory was not the only thing the workshop touched upon. The participants could immediately test the gained knowledge in the situations close to the academic practice.
