Sumy State University is the university of a classical type with a wide range of majors and study directions including 55 specialties in technical, economic, humanitarian, legal and IT fields of knowledge.

Results and Achievements

The quality of SumDU education is confirmed by the international ratings. According to the QS World University Rankings, Sumy State University makes it to the Top-group (3%) of the world leading universities, and according to the QS EECA University Rankings, SumDU is included to the Top-150 universities in the EECA region (Emerging Europe and Central Asia).

The results of the QS external audit show that SumDU has received the highest points (5 stars) for quantitative and qualitative number of staff, student satisfaction with the quality of teaching, availability of studying and its terms, socially-orientated activities and E-learning.

Technological Excellence

The information and telecommunication technologies, e-learning and Open Course Ware are actively implemented here. The thousands of computers, over 100 multimedia lecture halls, interactive systems, computing cluster, radio and TV studios serve as an indicator of a high technological advancement.

University Resources

There are over 3.1 million of paper copies in highly developed library and information center, which also includes the electronic library. According to the results of Ranking Web of Repositories by Webometrics, SumDU repository takes the first place in Ukraine among the similar electronic resources of scientific publications.

International Cooperation

Sumy State University cooperates with about 270 international partners. Our university also takes part in international grant programs, EU projects and international academic mobility programs.

Sumy State University implements the study programs in English. Thanks to the English-speaking environment about 1,750 foreign students from more than 50 countries study at SumDU.

Our Facilities

SumDU has comfortable dormitories, a complex of dining catering, a sports complex, a swimming pool, gyms, stadiums, a playing field with artificial turf, a modern fitness center and even its own driving school.

Social Life at SumDU

SumDU offers about 100 sport sections, over 40 art groups and studios, including vocal studios, instrumental and choreographic ensembles, drama clubs, cinematography and photography groups.
