6-7 June expert panel on quality evaluation of academic programmes visited SSU in the framework of international grant project “ALIGN: Achieving and checking the alignment between academic programs and qualification frameworks” of EU Tempus Programme.
The panel included project partners from Great Britain (Bath Spa University), Germany (CEENQA, ASIIN), Ireland (Institute of Art, Design and Technology) and Ukraine (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Khmelnytsky National University, National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine, Ukrainian Association of Students Self-Government).
During the visit a meeting with SSU project working group, review and evaluation of academic programmes that were selected for the pilot accreditation according to European standards – ‘Management of Organizations and Administration’, ‘Computer Mechanics’, analysis of quality assurance processes and alignment of academic programmes at the University took place. Within two-days stay in SSU the experts held working meetings with Rector of the University Anatoliy Vasylyev, teachers-developers of academic programmes, students, alumni and employers. These meetings were aimed at detailed analysis and evaluation of SSU academic programmes according to European standards.
By the results of work the expert panel highly evaluated the level of academic programmes quality, noting professionalism of staff who worked on programmes’ design and implementation, high level of engagement of students and employers to these processes which was an important component of a successful academic programme in European Higher Education Area. Besides, SSU team got a set of practical recommendations on improving academic programmes and their correspondence to requirements of international accreditation agencies.
It should be noted that this event is fully consistent with European procedures for accreditation of academic programmes and, therefore, is an important step towards international accreditation of SSU academic programmes.
