Students and staff of SSU Faculty of Electronics and Informational Technologies (Department of Nanoelectronics) joined the implementation of TEMPUS BME-ENA project (Biomedical Engineering Education Tempus Initiative in Eastern Neighbouring Area).

Kateryna Smirnova, Olena Kyrychenko, Marharyta Lisovenko and Anastasiia Pliushchyk majored in Physical and Biomedical Electronics, took part in the scientific and practical conference ‘Domestic engineering studies for public health’ which was part of V International Medical Congress ‘Introduction of medical science advances into healthcare practice in Ukraine’ and VII International Medical Forum ‘Medicine innovations – the nation’s health’ held in Kyiv.

The conference took place at Exhibition Center ‘KyivExpoPlaza’ and Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. The latest technologies of artificial organs and prostheses development, innovative medical and engineering projects, and modern medical engineering developments were presented at the conference. The main directions of the conference were devoted to quantum technology in healthcare protection and rehabilitation.

Students visited the lecture ‘The theoretical basis of quantum medicine’ delivered by Professor Vitaliy Maksymenko, Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’ and academic Amosov’s disciple and follower. They also listened to the reports of leading scientists on the possibility of introducing thermographic diagnostics in medical practice, methodology and practice of laser surgical units’ development, analysis of electrocardiogram’s diagnostic features, bioprostheses’ modeling, etc.

Besides, SSU post-doctoral student of the Department of Nanoelectronics Vadym Borysiuk took part in IEEE 36th International Conference on electronics and nanotechnology ELNANO-2016 at National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’ in Kyiv. He presented his report ‘Modeling the tensile behavior of the Au-Ag nanorod with core-shell structure’ within the section ‘Micro- and Nanoelectronics.’

Since 2013 International Conference on electronics and nanotechnology (ELNANO) has been funded by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. ELNANO proceedings are included to IEEE Xplore Digital Library, and indexed by major databases (Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, etc.).

Traditionally, the experts from Armenia, Canada, France, Germany, Georgia, Israel, Iran, Montenegro, Russia, Turkey, the USA, South Korea, Mexico, Ukraine and other countries participate in the conference.

National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’ held scientific events in which SSU representatives took part. Those events were held within implementation of BME-ENA project (Biomedical Engineering Education Tempus Initiative in Eastern Neighbouring Area) of EU Tempus programme.
