SSU starts working on the new international grant project under framework of ERASMUS+ Programme

On April 4-6, 2016 SSU potential was presented at the kick-off meeting of the project QUAERE «Quality Assurance System in Ukraine: Development on the Base of ENQA Standards and Guidelines» which took place in Lviv. Sumy State University was represented by the Head of the International Affairs Office Kostyantyn Kyrychenko.

He provided information on the research directions of the University and major achievements towards building the internal system of SSU education quality assurance.

The representatives of consortium including the leading universities of Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Greece and the Netherlands, and also Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (Germany), Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), Ukrainian Association of Students’ Self-Government, Educational and methodical centre on QA, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine took part in the kick-off meeting and shared their experience in project’s implementation.

According to SSU Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogic work, and international affairs Volodymyr Lyubchak, this powerful project provides a unique opportunity to study the experience of building quality assurance system in the EU, implementation of appropriate modern procedures and studying the best practices of European universities.

The project QUAERE «Quality Assurance System in Ukraine: Development on the Base of ENQA Standards and Guidelines» is one of the ten projects supported by the European Commission in Ukraine and the only one with the national level of results’ implementation. It belongs to Key Action 2 – Capacity building in the Field of Higher Education 2015 (ex-TEMPUS).

The project «Quality Assurance System in Ukraine: Development on the Base of ENQA Standards and Guidelines» was developed by the staff of Sumy State University in close cooperation with Polish and German experts. The project’s coordinator is Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. It has a budget of € 717 thousands. The QUAERE project aims to improve the sustainable functioning of internal and external quality assurance in higher education, ensure capacity building of universities and national level institutions through staff professional development, building organizational infrastructure quality assurance in higher education, and introduce the introspection mechanism as an integral component of universities’ functioning. Duration of project is two years.
