SSU International Conference on Nanomaterials brought together scientists from 11 countries

The 5^th International Conference ‘Nanomaterials: Applications and Properties’ was held by SSU with the help of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lublin University of Technology and Kaunas University of Technology. Scientists from 11 countries such as Poland, Slovenia, France, Holland, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Ukraine, Switzerland, Spain and Egypt took part in this conference.

The conference included reports, poster presentations and discussion sessions. The subject of the conference dealt with modern materials science, production technologies and study of bulk and film nanomaterials’ properties; creation of new nanomaterials, nanosystems and nanoparticles; problems of existing research methods of nanomaterials and ways of improving these methods; development of new energy-saving materials and lasers.

The reports were aimed at practical application of nanomaterials in industry, biology, medicine and chemistry for further improvement of existing technologies and introduction of the new ones.

SSU students and post-graduates took part in the conference. Student Ekaterina Smirnova (Physical and Biomedical Electronics specialty), post-graduate student of Electronics and Computing Department Yaroslav Znamenshchykov and post-graduate student of the Department of Nanoelectronics Olga Maksakova presented their reports. The poster presentation was made by the student of the Department of Electronics and Computing Marina Shumakova. Every report was discussed in finest details.

Proceedings of the International Conference ‘Nanomaterials: Applications and Properties’ were printed in two volumes, which included over 100 abstracts. Next year the conference will take place in Zatoka, Odesa region.
