The staff member of Pathomorphology Department of SSU Medical Institute, Roman Moskalenko completed the doctoral research on his dissertation using modern equipment at the Umeå University (Sweden).
He spent eight months abroad studying atomic force microscopy, X-ray spectroscopy, western blot, fluorescent and confocal microscopy.
A number of studies concerning Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and prostate tumors in the context of amyloid in this pathology were conducted within the project called "Molecular and cellular formation mechanisms of amyloid in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases". A number of articles will be published according to the results of the research.
During his internship Roman Moskalenko took over the experience of scientific work and learned several scientific methods with the prospect of their implementation in Medical Institute. Also the SSU representative shared with foreign colleagues his experience concerning histological and immunohistochemical studies and sample preparation of biological tissues. It is planned to expand and strengthen the cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden.
