The specialist of Philosophy, Politology and Innovative Social Technologies Department, Julia Saveljeva took part in the conference called “The urban movements and their understanding of democracy in the countries of the Visegrad Group and in Ukraine” (Budapest, Hungary).

The aim of the event was to discuss the specificity of the urban movements in the East Central Europe and the place of a gender component in them. The problem of gender incorporation in the urban movements was recognized as quite topical during the discussion.

In Budapest Julia Saveljeva presented the SSU experience in the implementation of initiatives concerning the creation of family friendly university and city, and the gender budgeting.

The practices concerning the urban movements in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Ukraine proved that public organizations could influence decisions connected with the life of the city and different groups of its citizens. The master-classes, taken place due to the partnership with the Representation of Friedrich Ebert Shtiftung (Budapest) and Polish University (Budapest), let the participants to exchange their experience and define the directions of their further work.
