New steps to boost cooperation between SSU and University of Koblenz-Landau

September 24th – Sumy State University welcomed Dr. Iryna Shalaginova, the Head of the International Relations Office of the University of Koblenz-Landau. Dr. Iryna Shalaginova, administration and leading scientists of SSU discussed results of the inter-university cooperation and prospects of its strengthening.

Further steps to closer cooperation are defined in the field of academic mobility, development of double-degree programmes, sharing experience and implementation of joint projects. These are mainly focused on environmental sciences, energy-efficiency, ecotoxicology, mathematical modelling and nanomaterials.

Professors from the Institute for Environmental Sciences and Mathematical Institute of the University of Koblenz-Landau presented their MSc. programmes, which can become the platform to develop exchange and double-degree programmes between the two HEIs.

During the visit Dr. Iryna Shalaginova conducted an open lecture “Education in Germany – University of Koblenz-Landau” for students and staff of Sumy State University.

The head of the International Affairs Office Kostyantyn Kyrychenko noted that cooperation between Sumy State University and the University of Koblenz-Landau started in 2008. Two years later the two HEIs signed a long-term cooperation agreement and executed four powerful EU TEMPUS projects. Every year SSU students, teaching and administrative staff participate in academic mobility programmes, summer academies, online certificate courses, state internship programme at the University of Koblenz-Landau.
