As of March 5, 2022, about 1,700 of foreign students live in the dormitories of Sumy State University..

In difficult and extremely difficult conditions caused by Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, the university provides the students with the goods of prime necessity. All dormitory staff work as usual. All university dormitories have safe shelters for students in the event of the threat of bombings by the Russian occupiers. The SumDU public catering service provides free meals to foreign students and provides dry rations. In terms of the absence of water supply, together with KUSUM PHARM LLC, transportation of drinking water, as well as vegetables, flour, etc. was organized. There is an agreement with the humanitarian fund on the delivery of food. SumDU partner companies and volunteers also constantly help to meet the needs of foreign students in food and basic necessities.

Currently, all international students are safe and secure. Those who had lived in the apartments moved to the dormitories. Constant communication with students is maintained through the heads of student fellowships, as well as through other channels of communication (phone, messengers, email). The specially created telegram channel is used to promptly inform foreign students.

In case of worsening the health condition students have an opportunity to use qualified consultation of doctors of University clinic of SumDU.
