On June 19th the new QS World University Rankings results for 2019/20 were published. Sumy State University has strengthened its position entering the TOP-5 of the best higher education institutions of Ukraine and moved up to a category 701-750 in a world ranking.

QS Ranking evaluates HEIs’ educational and scientific activity based on surveys of 140 000 academic experts and employers, indexes of research, international activity and academic staff. In general, this year 7 Ukrainian HEIs entered the QS World University Rankings.

 

Overall according to UNESKO database, there are about 25 000 higher education institutions in the world, out of which 6 000 – in Europe. As a comparison, according to QS World University Rankings 2020 among HEIs of Poland only 3 have higher positions than SumDU.

The QS Company (Great Britain) has been conducting higher education institutions ranking since 2004. QS World University Rankings next to Shanghai Ranking and Times Higher Education is considered to be one of the 3 most respected rankings in the world.
