SSU students were honored for significant contribution to the development of national sport

On July 22 in Sumy regional state administration the governance of Sumy region congratulated the SSU students with global achievements at the 1^st European Games (Baku, Azerbaijan) and at the 28^th World Summer Universiade 2015 (Gwangju, South Korea). Three silver and three bronze medals became the trophies of the SSU students' for the Ukrainian national team.

Volleyball players Yurii Synytsia (Faculty of Economics and Management), Bohdan Dmytro (Faculty of Economics and Management) and Oleksii Kliamar became the silver winners at the 28^th World Summer Universiade. Bohdan Yadov (Faculty of Law) and Tetiana Levytska (Faculty of Philology and Social Communications), the SSU judoists, won the bronze medals. Artem Homula received the bronze medal in Judo at the 1^st European Games.

For contribution to the development of Sumy sports life the sportsmen were thanked with awards and presents. Special thanks for world-class sportsmen were expressed to the coaches and rector of SSU Anatoliy Vasylyev.

Anatoliy Vasylyev mentioned that Sumy State University is actively involved in sports life. There are 36 sports, more than 100 sports clubs and strong coaching staff in SSU. The resource base of the university allows sportsmen to prepare for world-class competition and the other students to go in for wide variety of sports and cultivate a healthy life-style.
