European experts assessed the quality of SSU educational programmes “Informatics” and “Economic Cybernetics”

The group of the European experts visited Sumy State University to analyse the reports on self-assessment of educational programmes of the Academic and Research Institute of Business Technologies “UAB” (“Economic Cybernetics”) and the Faculty of the Electronics and Information Technologies (“Informatics”) in terms of the international grand project “Quality Assurance System in Ukraine: Development on the Base of ENQA Standards and Guidelines” (QUAERE), implemented within Erasmus + in November 16^th-17^th , 2018.

The expert group included Victor Klabbers (Stichting Network University, Netherlands), Audrius Gargasas (Aleksandras Stulginskis University, Lithuania) and Vasilis Stilianakis (University of Patras, Greece).

In terms of the visit the European experts met with the internal and external stakeholders: the administration of Sumy State University, managers for the internal quality assurance system, students, employers and graduates.

Sumy State University became the 4^th HEI of Ukraine in a row to meet the delegation. It demonstrated the best results by the criteria: the quality of self-assessment reports for the above-mentioned educational programmes and the level of the organization and support of the visit. Also, the facilities and resources of SSU, a favorable environment for the interaction of students, teachers, administration and the external stakeholders (employers and graduates), in particular, the availability of the open communication with the teachers and administration, a strong integration with the employer organizations, student surveys on the quality of educational activities and educational programmes, survey of the employers on the quality of educational programmes “Informatics” and “Economic Cybernetics”, the openness and publicity of the education information (repository, library services, website, etc.) were positively assessed.

The expert group provided practical recommendations for the improvement of the educational programmes, self-assessment reports and the internal quality assurance processes.

The expert panel delegation, headed by the German Quality Assurance Agency ASIIN, is going to visit Sumy State University for the pilot assessment of the educational programmes in spring, 2018.
