The diplomatic front of SumDU going on

Rector of Sumy State University Vasyl KARPUSHA held a Zoom meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mr. Christoph LUTUNDULA, a representative of the African-Ukrainian Cooperation Company, Mr. Serge NYANGI, and Congolese students.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the administrative management staff of SumDU, which takes care of foreign students.

The rector informed about the emergency situation in Sumy city due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Vasyl KARPUSHA noted that at that time all students were not far from the bomb shelters, provided with food and drinking water, had the opportunity to receive medical and psychological assistance, etc.

Mr. Minister thanked the rector and the team of the university for creating safe conditions and caring for students in such a difficult situation.

During the meeting, the possibilities of the safe evacuation of students were discussed, given the current lack of transport connections between Sumy and other cities and the unpredictability of the actions from the side of the Russian military.

As the rector emphasized once again, the main priority was the safe movement of students through the territory of Ukraine, the participants of the meeting decided to ask for help in evacuating students to international humanitarian organizations.
