SSU representatives participated in the meeting frames of EU Tempus project “Biomedical Engineering Education Tempus Initiative in Eastern Neighboring Area”. The Technical University of Moldova (m. Chisinau) held this meeting on September 22-26, 2015.

The representatives of the University of Patras (Greece), which is also a project coordinating university, and teachers-researchers from Belgium, Poland, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia have taken part in it.

Sumy State University was represented by the Dean of Faculty of Electronics and Informational Technologies, professor Serhiy Protsenko and assistant professor of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Biomolecular Engineering Department of Medical Institute Ludmila Hrebenyk.

The participants discussed the implementation of Master’s Programmes in Biomedical Engineering within the partner universities of Eastern Europe, including Ukraine. They also discussed some issues of curriculum development and their integration in the curricula of universities, prospects and the first results of student studying in accordance with Master Programme in Biomedical Engineering. Experience of Ukraine concerning introduction and development of the joint programme became a subject of curiosity and passionate discussion.

Within III International conference on Nanotechnology and Biomedical Engineering Serhiy Protsenko and Ludmila Hrebenyk introduced scientific research of SSU concerning synthesis and usage of nanomaterials in engineering and medicine.
