Sumy State University entered the final stage of the project competition on educational technologies Reimagine Education Awards and represented Ukraine at the exhibition-conference in London. This event also known as the "Oscars" of Education took place on December 9th-10th at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre.

The QS Ranking Agency and Wharton Learning Lab of University of Pennsylvania organized the 6th edition of the annual event.

Sumy State University was the only participant from Ukraine and presented its ecosystem of online education. The competition jury included SumDU project in 15% of finalists among more than 1 500 projects of technological companies, universities and other education services providers from 84 countries worldwide.

Over 650 conference participants had a chance to visit SumDU exhibition stand. Sumy State University demonstrated experience of technologies of virtual and augmented reality application in its online education ecosystem. In London everyone had an opportunity to be in the same virtual space together with a specialist in Sumy and to solve an engineering problem of adjusting the operating mode of installation of preparing the natural gas. Apart from that, SumDU representatives demonstrated how to use the AR/VR in different spheres of knowledge.

Zoya Zaitseva, QS Regional Director, shared her impressions: “Wow!!! What a great VR experience with Sumy State University! Unbelievable tech with so many fantastic applications in tech, classical, creative, medical and pretty much any educational institution.”

Yurii Zuban, the Head of the Center of E-learning Technologies of SumDU noted that university team proved that Ukraine knows how impress with its intellectual and technological potential, and Reimagine Education is a good platform to find new partners to realise ambitious international projects.

On December 21st the Laboratory of virtual and augmented reality “Ulab” will be opened at SumDU, which doesn’t have analogues in Ukrainian HEIs for today, as well as webinar and video studios.
