At the beginning of the war, the number of foreign students at Sumy State University reached about 1,700. All of them turned out at the epicenter of events and experienced the same thing as every Ukrainian citizen. Will they continue their studies at SumDU after the war?

The heroine of our interview is Mabel, the student from Nigeria who studied for a Master's degree in medicine. She received a Bachelor's degree and came back to receive a Master's degree. At SumDU, Mabel faced with the Coronavirus pandemic, and, now, the war. She told us how she waited for the evacuation, how she left, and whether she plans to come back to Sumy after the war.

On February 24, the war caught us by surprise. Artillery shelling, air raids, and street fighting have become the daily reality for Ukrainians. Everyone is trying to fight, to make the personal contribution to the common victory of Ukraine over the invader, because, unfortunately, the war is going on not only for the territory but for souls and hearts. Sumy State University makes every effort to get the victory in Sumy as soon as possible. We tried to record the important events of this three-week confrontation, and then remember them with gratitude and pride.

The Research Center for Regional Security of Sumy State University continues information work during the war. The center is a well-known analytical security center among the world community, so from the first days of the confrontation, the experts of the center have been commenting on the situation in Sumy, including SumDU.

international information service "Radio Freedom" has prepared a video report about the evacuation of foreign students from Sumy. In the video plot, the students comment on real events related to the full-scale Russian invasion and thank the Ukrainian government for organizing the trip.
