The EU project “Biomedical Engineering Education Tempus Initiative in Eastern Neighboring Area” of Tempus Programme
Sumy State University and the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” are involved into the implementation of the EU project “Biomedical Engineering Education Tempus Initiative in Eastern Neighboring Area” of Tempus Programme under the coordination of the University of Patras (Greece) and in cooperation with other leading European universities. Within this project, SumDU and National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” implement joint MSc BME programme.
Currently, in the time of advanced technologies development of a programme based on the recommendations of the universities of the European Union will improve the quality of knowledge of future bioengineers and guarantee successful professional activity.
Duration of the project: 3 years (1 December 2013 – 30 November 2016).

Aim of the project is the promotion of Biomedical Engineering Education in the Eastern Neighboring Area through the creation of joint multidisciplinary MSc BME programmes in line with the European Higher Education Area principles.
Project results:
- implementation of joint MSc BME programme together with National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”;
- opening BME research laboratories;
- development of educational material in line with European recommendations;
- introduction of a quality assurance system.
