The EU project “Achieving and checking the alignment between academic programmes and qualification frameworks” of Tempus Programme
Sumy State University is involved in the implementation of the EU project “Achieving and checking the alignment between academic programmes and qualification frameworks” under the coordination of Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences (Armenia) and in cooperation with other leading European universities.
Duration of the project: 4 years (1 December 2013 – 30 November 2017).

Aim of the project:
- promotion of a better understanding of HEIs and EQAs of the role of NQFs, its structure as well as the differences between the different kinds and levels of student achievement;
- building on the capacity of HEIs in writing and assessing learning outcomes according to definite kinds and levels of student achievement and promotion of student-centered teaching and learning;
- building on HEIs capacity for ensuring alignment in academic programmes and QFs to facilitate student knowledge transfer, joint qualifications and implementing leading practices;
- enabling EQAs to check whether proposed learning outcomes and their assessment mechanisms match at every level by establishing a system for ensuring consistency of judgments across institutions.
Expected results:
- Development of HEIs and EQAs opportunities on alignment with academic programmes and NQFs
- Development of mechanisms ensuring alignment with NQFs (for HEIs)
- Development of mechanisms for checking alignment (for EQA)
- Revision of two selected academic programmes at each HEI in terms of correspondence to European standards and requirements of QFs
- Alignment of developed mechanisms in HEIs, EQAs and at the governmental level
- Retraining of HEIs staff to assess learning outcomes and promote student-centered teaching and learning
