The EU project “Establishment of the supra-regional network of the national centers in medical education, focused on PBL and virtual patients” of Tempus Programme

 

Sumy State University is involved into the implementation of the EU project “Establishment of the supra-regional network of the national centers in medical education, focused on PBL and virtual patients” of Tempus Programme under the coordination of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and in cooperation with other leading European universities and Partner Universities of Ukraine, Georgia, and Kazakhstan. Within this project, SumDU improves medical education by using virtual patients and problem-based learning programmes complying with European standards.

Duration of the project: 3 years (15 October 2012 – 14 October 2015).

The aim of the project is to create modern conditions of teaching medical disciplines using leading methods of problem-based learning and the use of virtual patients that provide training for qualified medical specialists.

Project results:

• modernization of medical educational programmes using interactive scripts of the method of problem-based learning;
• creating a national network of medical centers of innovation achievements in medical education;
• improvement of the educational control system in a sphere of clinical practice requirements.
