The EU project “Informatics and management: Bologna-style qualifications frameworks” of Tempus Programme

Aim of the project is promotion of higher education development in Ukraine by making it relevant to the real needs of countries’ social development.

Specific objectives of the project:

• establishing a platform for active collaboration between universities and enterprises for identifying qualification requirements for Bachelor and Master students in the fields of Informatics and Management;
• improving the work of national methodical commissions responsible for national standards in Informatics and Management based on the experience of the EU and Bologna-style qualifications frameworks;
• introduction of new national standards in countries participating in the abovementioned fields.

The tasks of the project consist in defining the basic principles and structure of qualifications frameworks, development and implementation of sectorial qualifications frameworks in the fields of ICT and Management in the countries participating in the consortium.

The project involves upgrading educational standards based on data collected from potential employers, introduction of new European approaches to qualifications frameworks and the establishment of modern educational modules and educational programmes.

Project results:

• Within project information on real economic needs of three countries was gathered and analyzed.
• Qualifications requirements for graduates in the fields of Informatics and Management (Bachelor and Master) were composed in a special document “Basic principles (guidelines) on qualification frameworks in the fields of Informatics and Management.”
• General guidelines were adapted to national conditions and national qualifications were reviewed and approved by the relevant national scientific and methodical commissions responsible for the preparation of national standarts. The new standards will be based on the National Qualifications Frameworks.
