Title: 620717-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE Modern European trends in biomedical higher education: Bionanomaterials
Type of project: Jean Monnet Academic Modules
Responsible department for implementing the project at SumDU:
Center for the collective use of scientific Equipment in Medical Institute, Sumy State University
Period of realization: 01 September 2020 - 31 August 2023
Short description of the project:
The course addresses key elements of European policies in R&D in novel biomaterials using nanotechnologies; and their utilization in regenerative medicine and biotechnology. The goal of the course is the formation of a systematic complex of knowledge on general principles, forms, and methods of biomaterial-based regenerative medicine in graduate students; as well as acquiring the skills to use knowledge in the effective implementation of bionanotechnologies in practice. The ultimate goal of the course is knowledge of students about new technologies, working processes, materials, etc. to be used in regenerative biomedical applications locally, regionally, in the EU, or globally. Studying is based on the concepts of Research University. The course will comprise an international dimension, highlighting the role of the EU in the development of new technologies. It touches both humanitarian and technical aspects of bionanomedicine, and facilitates the impact of European R&D policies in Ukraine.
By delivering knowledge on research projects in bionanomaterials in Europe, the Module will increase international mobility and contribute to further integration of European standards into Ukrainian research and education policies. This will in turn contribute to the implementation of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement. The public education campaign will add to building an active civil society in Ukraine. The Module will also disseminate knowledge on European R&D infrastructure, which will increase penetration of European education policies into the Ukrainian higher medical education teaching system.
