Despite the war: how a student from Sumy realised her dream of studying abroad
Vitalii Kolos Sending University: Sumy State University (Ukraine) Receiving University: Silesian University of Technology (Poland) Duration of mobility: 25.02. - 7.07.2019 Type of mobility: student mobility for studying |
I received a scholarship under the international Erasmus+ programme and the opportunity to study at the Silesian University, Gliwice for one semester. Silesian University of Technology (SUT) is the oldest Technological University in the region and one of the most prestigious universities in Poland. Over the period of 70 years history of the University, it has always been the government entity, which played both cultural and educational role in the region. The number of 15 educational institutions of the University - 13 faculties, 1 college and a scientific and didactic center - so far offer almost 60 study programs and about 200 specializations, including the whole range of engineering specialties.
I really like the programme and studying at the University. Participation in the programme gives you many new acquaintances, impressions, opportunities. Erasmus is not only studying, it is much more. You will go to another country, you may not know the local language like me, but all these are trifles. I admit that participation and victory in the programme is the best that happened to me during my student years.
I want to wish self-confidence, openness to new impressions and challenges, patience and purposefulness for future students who would like to participate in grant programmes! Be courageous and never give up if you fail at first.
