SSU keeps implementing Erasmus+ EU programme
Within Erasmus + EU programme (KA1. Learning mobility) SSU students have begun studying in one of the Italian universities. During the spring semester the students of Balatsky Academic and Scientific Institute of Finance, Economics and Management including Yelyzaveta Chudesa, Tetiana Yakushko, Olha Samofalova and Anastasiia Niesheva and the students of Academic and Scientific Institute of Law such, as Valeriia Dubova and Yuliia Rahulina study at the University of Foggia.
SSU students study major disciplines in the field of Economics and Law, as well as attend the Italian language courses in order to adapt and get acquainted with the culture and life in Italy.
Sumy State University is an active member of Erasmus + programme, including projects that support the development of academic mobility, innovations and the exchange of best practices in the field of higher education, intensification of European integration discourse, involving higher education institutions in the study of the European integration processes and the dissemination of ideas about United Europe. Only in the framework of learning mobility projects, to which SSU has joined last year, the mobility of 40 SSU representatives to the universities in Poland, Italy, France, Romania, the UK and Greece is provided.
‘I am grateful that SSU has given me a chance to study at the University of Foggia. This is a great opportunity to improve my proficiency in English and compare the Ukrainian educational process to the European one. Besides, it is an excellent opportunity to meet students of other countries and visit extremely picturesque places,’ says Yuliia Rahulina, the participant of Erasmus + programme.
Students also note that academic process at the University of Foggia is interesting and exciting, but a way of teaching significantly differs from the domestic one. In addition to studying the University of Foggia holds various cultural events promoting adaptation of foreign students, including meetings with local youth and involvement in charitable projects.
Mobility within SSU grant project and the University of Foggia continues. This semester a PhD student of the Department of Marketing and Management of Innovative Activity will work on his thesis in the Italian higher education institution for two months. And in the end of April a teacher of SSU Medical Institute shall give lectures for medical students at the University of Foggia.
SSU lecturer participated in Erasmus+ mobility for teaching in Italy
25-29 April Andrii Loboda, Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatrics with Medical Genetics has undertaken a mobility activity for teaching at the University of Foggia. The visit of SSU academic has been implemented under Erasmus+ Programme, in the framework of which SSU and the University of Foggia carry out a joint learning mobility project.
While visiting the Italian university Andrii Loboda with the assistance of Prof. Massimo Pettoello-Mantovani, Director of the Institute of Pediatrics & Residency Program has given lectures to the residents specialized in Pediatrics. The thematic scope of Loboda’s teaching comprised resuscitation of newborn, pneumonia in children, congenital heart disease and iron deficiency anemia.
During the teaching mobility programme Andrii Loboda and Giulio Esposito, Head of Erasmus+ Office at the University of Foggia have discussed the opportunities for engaging medical students in the above-mentioned learning mobility project for the next academic year.
